Jimbaran Puri Bali takes great pleasure to announce the recent appointment of Mr. Michele Greggio as Executive Chef. Michele brings with him a wealth of culinary experience having spent a significant part of his career working in a number of exotic locations around the world.
Italian born Michele, began his career in 1995 as Commis Chef for a local restaurant near Padua where he learnt the roots of homemade regional Italian cuisine. A few years later he accepted his first overseas post as Demi Chef in Berlin. A number of similar positions saw him rise through the culinary ranks. He had the opportunity to work in award-winning restaurants, such as the Sonnenber Restaurant in Zurich and Etain Restaurant in Glasgow, Scotland. Michele’s inspiration was also triggered by the time he spent working with celebrity Chef, Jachy Donatz.
Since arriving at Jimbaran Puri Bali, Michele has spent considerable time getting know local suppliers and the quality of ingredients that are readily available on the island. He has also put his own signature touch on the menu at Nelayan Restaurant.
Although Michele trained as an Italian chef, he draws inspiration from each distinct location he has work in. He is a master at combining Western techniques with local spices to showcase his personal brand of culinary innovation.
